Analysis and discussion of historical case studies of conservation treatment for oil paintings and wooden carvings.
The course covers group case studies of analysis and preservation, conceptual and speculative thinking for conservation of oil paintings and wooden works, research on aesthetic factors and historical value in the restoration of cultural artifacts, discussion on the humanistic philosophy and scientific implementation in conservation.
Study of the issue of "assumed representation" and original intention of the author in restoring the missing parts of painted works, and the problem of presenting the historical appearance of original works through the degree of cleaning in oil painting restoration.
